Dacor oven f7 is a self-clean door-lock failure on the Classic ERC platform: the ERC expects the door lock to remain engaged only while the cavity is above a defined temperature threshold, and F7 fires when the lock/phase circuit does not release, or does not report releasing, once that threshold has been crossed on the way down. Dacor’s Tec-Line sheet frames this as a “clean-lock/phase circuit failure” — the phase switch reports which position the door-lock motor cam is in, and if that report does not match what the ERC commanded, the safety system holds the problem.
Symptoms

- F7 appears during or after a self-clean cycle, most commonly during the cool-down phase.

- Debris or warping around the latch mechanism — buildup from repeated self-clean cycles can physically bind the lock hardware.
- ERC-side problem reading the phase signal — less common, but the board itself can misinterpret a healthy switch.

- Let the oven finish its full cool-down period — F7 during an active self-clean cycle can clear once the cavity is fully cool.
- Power-cycle at the breaker only after the oven has cooled, never while the cavity is still hot from self-clean.
- Do not force the oven door or attempt to manually override the lock mechanism.
- Listen for the lock motor attempting to run, and note whether it sounds like it is straining or stalling.
- Avoid running another self-clean cycle until F7 has been diagnosed, since the lock may re-engage and fail to release again.
