Marcus Thompson works on integrated refrigeration, where the fault is as often in the kitchen as in the appliance. A custom door front that has dropped a few millimetres holds the appliance door fractionally open all day; a blocked plinth vent starves a condenser that tests perfectly on the bench.
Column refrigeration is his particular subject. Each Dacor column carries its own compressor and evaporator, so a refrigerator column can run warm while the freezer column standing beside it, in the same cabinetry run, is entirely healthy — which is exactly the fault people misread as “the whole fridge is dying”.
