Hinge side, locked in before ordering
Left-hinge and right-hinge wine columns are separate SKUs, and just as with column refrigeration, this is not a field-reversible decision — confirming the swing direction against the kitchen layout before ordering avoids having to return and reorder the unit.
Ventilation for the independent compressor
Each wine column runs its own dedicated compressor under PreciseCooling, and that compressor needs the clearance the manufacturer specifies to dissipate heat effectively — a wine column installed with restricted rear airflow can struggle to hold its rated 0.3 degree tolerance even though nothing about the unit itself is faulty.
Why the glass door’s weight matters for hinge care
The argon-filled triple glass construction that gives this platform its insulation performance also adds real weight to the door compared to a standard refrigerator door, and confirming the hinge hardware is properly torqued and aligned during installation helps prevent the gradual sagging that otherwise shows up as an uneven seal years later.
Coordinating the panel front with a fitter
As with any panel-ready column, the visible cabinetry front is typically installed separately from the appliance itself, and getting an even reveal gap at installation — particularly along the hinge side, given the door’s added weight — prevents both a poor seal and a Push-to-Open latch that never catches cleanly.
