Hinge side, locked in at order time
Left-hinge and right-hinge column freezers are distinct model numbers, and confirming the correct swing direction against the kitchen layout before ordering avoids the same costly reorder problem that applies across Dacor’s entire column refrigeration lineup.
Dual ice makers add a water-line consideration
The 18 inch column freezer ships with dual ice makers, which means a dedicated water line needs to be run to the unit during installation, fully open and free of kinks, since a restricted supply line here produces a slow-fill symptom that looks like an ice maker problem rather than an installation issue.
Panel weight and the Push-to-Open latch
As with the refrigerator column, the custom panel-ready front needs to be mounted at the correct depth for the handle-free Push-to-Open latch to catch reliably, and getting this alignment right during installation avoids a latch that never releases cleanly from day one.
