The same four alarms as the refrigerator
The Dacor column freezer manual we reviewed uses the identical SmartThings alarm system as the refrigerator — Self Check, Abnormally High Temperature, Door Open, and Filter Replacement — and no alphanumeric code appears in the document at all. A freezer sharing the refrigerator’s alarm wording is expected, since both categories share the same column-cabinetry engineering underneath.
The fabricated codes to ignore
A single online thread mentions freezer codes “6” and “13” for temperature-sensor and defrost-heater faults, but no manufacturer document supports either number, and the numbering does not match any pattern found in Dacor’s genuine documentation. We treat both as unverified and do not publish them.
Symptom-led checks
A freezer running warm, or one whose compressor never cycles off, points at the sealed system, a failed fan, or a defrost fault; heavy frost build-up suggests the defrost heater or thermostat itself; and drawers frozen shut are often the same frost problem spreading through the cabinet.
When to call
Confirm the door seal and a clear airflow path before suspecting a part. Sealed-system repairs belong to an experienced technician handling refrigerant under EPA Section 608 rules with the correct genuine OEM or trusted-supplier part. Review the freezer diagnostics page, then book freezer repair.
