A Problem, Cause, and Solution manual, not a code table
Dacor’s own Heritage Range Hood User Manual documents every fault as a plain Problem, Cause, and Solution row — “Nothing Works,” “Light(s) not working,” “Fan not drawing heat and smoke properly” — and no alphanumeric or coded fault indicator appears anywhere in the document.
The fabricated codes to ignore
Codes such as FAN-FAIL, NO-LIGHT, NO-POWER, and VENT-BLOCK circulate on repair-blog sites for Dacor range hoods, and they are directly contradicted by Dacor’s own manual, which lists the identical symptoms in plain English. Treat any hood page showing those strings as unsourced.
Motor, airflow, and light symptoms
A hood with no power at all points at the switch or the supply wiring; one that runs but pulls little air usually has a clogged grease filter, a saturated recirculation filter, or a blocked duct; and a hood that comes on by itself has likely tripped its own overheat protection. A dead light is almost always the bulb or its socket rather than the control board.
When to call
Clean or replace the filters and check the duct run before assuming a part has failed; if the motor stays silent or the noise is new and loud, an experienced technician can trace the fault to the switch, the motor, or the ductwork with the right genuine OEM or trusted-supplier part.
