These Dacor range communication problems appear on the Samsung-era Modernist Pro range platform — models like the DOP48M86D and DOP36M86D — documented in the range’s own “Information codes” section, which mirrors the Modernist wall oven’s table exactly.
C-F0: Main PBA to Sub PBA
C-F0 means communication has been interrupted between the Main and Sub printed board assemblies, the two control boards that divide responsibility across the range’s functions. This is documented as a High-severity problem, since a broken link between these two boards can affect multiple functions across the appliance at once rather than a single isolated component.
C-F2: Main PBA to Touch Panel
C-F2 means communication has been interrupted between the Main board and the touch control panel specifically — the interface the cook actually presses. This is documented as Medium severity, since it more narrowly affects the ability to read and issue commands rather than the appliance’s core heating functions.
Why the distinction matters for diagnosis
C-F0 points toward the connection or the boards themselves in the main control chain, while C-F2 narrows the search specifically to the touch-panel harness and connector. A range still heating correctly but with an unresponsive or blank touch display is more consistent with C-F2; a range behaving erratically across multiple functions is more consistent with C-F0. Confirming which of the two actually displayed, rather than assuming, changes where a technician starts looking.
What can cause a communication problem short of board failure
A loose or corroded connector, a pinched harness from installation or cabinetry work, or a wiring failure along the run between boards can all produce either code without either board itself having failed outright. Checking accessible connections before assuming a board replacement is worth doing, though on a built-in range this is realistically a technician’s job rather than a DIY step given the disassembly involved.
How this differs from the Legacy platform
Legacy Classic ERC ranges and the separate ER30D/36D/48D platform do not use PBA terminology or this C-F0/C-F2 numbering at all — their equivalent communication-style problems are F2 (communication problem between control panel and relay board) and F20 (a loose or defective data cable), which are entirely different strings describing an analogous problem on older hardware. Do not cross-reference the two systems.
When to book service
A C-F0 or C-F2 that returns immediately after a power cycle indicates a problem beyond a simple reset, and is worth an experienced technician’s diagnosis rather than repeated troubleshooting. Our range error codes page covers the full Samsung-era and Legacy tables side by side, and our range appliance page covers the current Modernist Pro lineup.
